Overview

Recorded live at Fraley’s 2003 recital, Paintings of Song is an idea born of the desire to paint images with music, experimenting with the intermixing of poetry readings and chamber music, using the unique expressiveness of each to enhance the other. The concert title illustrates this mixing of mediums: the concrete imagery of poetry and the emotional color of music fusing into a scene as vivid as any painting. In this manner, we experience the concert as a series of paintings of a journey, each scene expressing a particular mood or insight.

Over 50 minutes of music featuring Kevin Krentz (cello), Kwan Bin Park (violin), Karen Janes (string bass), Stuart Lutzenhiser (tenor), and others.
